I have been thinking of this for past 2-3years having shifted many gyms in these years.
I think the gym instructors fail to or rather dont understand the body needs of a guy or a girl. Not everyone can do all exercises, it depends on each individuals type of body. A guy who is by nature slim would not be able to increase by doing heavy weights and neither can a guy who is fat gain anything by doing light weights.
Every guy who walks into gym wants to look like Arnold within 6months and keeps looking at the mirror every week to check how much he is to reach his target. Obviously if your body is not of the type how much ever weight put in would not result in a bulk like Arnold nor can one see results within a week or so except of course the body pain!!
Every second girl who walks into gym wants to look sleak & slim like Angeline Jolie. How much ever running & cycling & crunches she does a week or even a month is not enough to see the results.
There are another set of people who come to gym to shed the excess kilos of their body. Leave them for two weeks and after that if you ask them how its going, the immediate reply would be, “kya yaar kuch effect be nahin hai” or “enna panninalum korayave maatengudu” (English translation: there is no effect after doing regularly) These guys would definitely quit because they are looking for results from day one which is not possible. This is akin to saying, teacher taught alphabets of language on day one of schooling and day two the student should be able to write all the alphabets. Remember after 1hr of session on day one.
For any exam how many months we study before clearing the final exam?? Its just like that.
There are another set of guys who come to the gym and after few months when they are actually shaping up quit. Reasons, not able to get up early in the morning.. isnt it too cold?? Another reason, lot of work man..
Finally its our body, if we want to shape up we need patience, put in effort to be a regular, be determined, understand ones own body.
