Endhiran – Movie Review

Fans expecting typical Rajni movie will be disappointed just like me.
Last 45mins Rajni rocks gives glimpses of Mundru Mugam Rajni. The best is bleating like a sheep, rather black sheep.
The special effects in the end is mind blowing. Looks like a typical Hollywood movie with all those graphics.
Finally its all on that graphics for the movie to succeed.
Since we have seen Rajni in this role we can’t imagine how it would be if Kamal had acted.

BGM, forget it. Am wondering if AR Rehman is losing his magic touch. Maybe he is over influenced by Hollywood. Maybe he has to go to Ilayaraja and take lessons. The songs does not stick to mind. The locations for songs are breath-taking.

1.5 for the special effects and 1 for Rajni’s acting in last 45-50 minutes. All in all I would rate it movie at 2.5 out of 5.

Shankar has tried to change the image of Rajni and also his introduction. Is this required? Fans always expect an introduction song from him where he breaks a pumpkin or coconut or leaps in from sky. Shankar in this attempt has also tried to downplay the role of Rajni as scientist and give more importance to chiti the robot.
“Arima Arima” song during climax is the only one that tries to stick to ones mind. Coupled with Shankar’s usual extravagance here with 100 Rajni robos.

The conversation between Chiti & mosquito, forget it. Nothing impressive about it.
Chiti tries to put a small kid to sleep, the computer kid graphic is pathetic.
The stand out parts are the special effects in the climax where the formation keeps on changing and keeps one glued to screen. The bleating like goat, the laughter like in the past as a villan.
Aishwarya Rai is just there in the movie. Though she fits in like no one else would she has nothing much to do.
The character of Danny Denzongpa is abruptly brought to an end.
Never understood why to cast Kalabhavan Mani. He appears for one scene and its over. It does not approve of his talent.
Luckily Vivek was not there as comedian. He could have screwed up asking for more screen presence.
Karunas and Santhanam as assistant to scientist Rajini do not tickle any funny bone. They could have tried to be serious only.

Ranganthitu Bird Sanctuary

It was more like a lazy ride to Ranganthitu Bird Sanctuary. After the night rains people came in late to the Royal Enfield outlet at Jayanagar in Bangalore. The trip was organised by Rajesh of RE. We started off after distribution of water bottles & t-shirts at 8:00am. This was definitely quite a late start to the trip. We stopped lot of times for re-grouping. Many in the group were doing their first ride as a group and out of city limits that also adds to the frequent stoppages.

The point (who leads the group and who is not supposed to be overtaken) disappeared few times especially when others were supposed to take a diversion to the NICE higway. Yeah, this was also a learning for others. And the point did learn, later in the ride while taking a diversion to the Sanctuary he did stand on the highway to direct other riders.

This is something which I have been noticing in the past few rides where there are few new riders. Riding a Royal Enfield bullet does not mean the whole highway is for you. RE is not equivalent to Harley or other sports bikes that you can zoom to a speed of 140km/hr+. In a group ride the maximum speed is 80-85km/hr only so leave space for others, especially cars. All cars including Maruthi 800 can go at faster speed and blocking the highway could lead to accidents. More than two times I noticed 4 bikers blocking the highway. There is a pattern in which bikers should ride when on highway. Do read this post where RE mechanic explained the patter in my first ever ride on RE bike (Check out the photo in the post). We werein all 30 people on 17 bikes which was pretty good number.

The total distance from the RE outlet is about 150kms only off the highway towards Mysore. There is an entrance fee of Rs.15/- person and Rs.30/- for parking the bike. There needs a special mention of two foreign girls on a Haiku Honda Activa who barged into the queue and wanted the tickets. The person at the counter was right in asking them to go and sit in their vehicle. Complaining for this was just outrageous. Would you do this in your country??

We were not in a state to take the boat ride since it was pretty hot at around 1:00pm so tried to capture few birds from a distance under the shades of trees. There were so many trees that it was pretty cool as long as you were standing under them. Once you move out of the shade the heat almost kills you. There were just birds and birds everywhere.

Its definitely a place for retreat on weekend. Don’t worry about food or snacks or coffee or tea, its available inside. After eating please dont throw waste or paper around, do use the dustbins.

Give me space to walk

Well if you are in Bangalore and walking in Koramangala on 4th Block or 4th B Block one must be looking not only forward but also backwards & sidewards. Why?? Well, the answer is very simple, car owners park their cars on the pavement in front of their house since there is no space inside to park. Not only that, on the main roads due to lack of space and lot of traffic, two wheelers or rather bikers take their vehicles on to the pavements and honk as if pavement is main road!!
These guys force the pedestrians to the road for walking thereby putting us in danger of getting hit. There is absolute lack of discipline and only thing all drivers do is complain about traffic problems while they also contribute to the problem.

How many times to write about these problems faced but there seems to be no light at the end of tunnel.
