Trip to Trivandrum

A planned trip to Trivandrum for my colleagues marriage. Everything went well except that we were travelling for most of the time. We (6 of us) started from office at 3:030 in the evening on Friday to catch the 5:30 KSRTC Volvo bus. The journey started then. It seems there was a roadblock and finally the bus dropped us at Trivandrum at 12:30 in the afternoon of Saturday. We completely missed the wedding formalities and were just in time to finish our lunch and have a photo session with the couple.
After that we again went to our hotel Ariya Nivas near bus stand. Spending half-an-hour there, we proceeded on our next trip to Kovalam beach which is about 16kms from Trivandrum.

It was drizzling all the time so, there were not much people but there was a thamizh movie shooting happening on the beach.

This was for a movie by name Madhu starring Ramesh and Priyamani. Ramesh had acted in the movie Jithan before and Priyamani acted in a movie with Dhanush which is yet to be released.
Night we were back in our rooms and ordered room service for dinner. Had a good session of talking and chatting and pulling each other’s leg.
Sunday we got up quite early by 7:00 in the morning to visit the famous temple Padmanabha Kovil where the perumal is in sleeping position.

The temple is quite awesome with Kerala architecture.

By 12:30 in the afternoon, we took the bus to Nagercoil where we had to catch the train for Bangalore. 8:30 today morning we reached Bangalore Cantonment station and rushed home, got ready and reached office!!
In Trivandrum the traffic looks little confused, even worse than Bangalore. But the police is very strict, no smoking in public places and vehicles are checked if there is any suspicion. The people out there can understand Thamizh/Tamil and so, there was no problem of communication.
It was a good trip with most of the time spent in travel and travel and travel.

  1. Wow! I remember my own trip to nagercoil, kanyakumari and trivandrum. Unfortunately I could not make it to the Kovalam beach. I went to the shanmugham beach instead. supposedly it is a very quiet place with not much of crowd and the waves are so high that you cant even stand on the shores of the beach and let water touch your feet. It is a rocking beach but only as a feast for the eyes. There were strong mallus surfing against those high rising waves.

The temple is also very good. My aunt stays in the enxt street to the temple and hence I had a nice time going around the temple as she knew all the places so well and she kind of guided us well.

In total..I m sure u had a rocking time..Kerala is one of the best place for enjoying nature at its best.

    Smiles etc.,
