Nikkon Coolpix S10 Camera

I have bought a new cameraNikkon S10 since my old one Nikkon Coolpix 3.2Mp has gone beyond repairs.
This camera is quite a good buy and worth the cost. Its not much Rs.14,500/- in Indian Market. This has 6.0Megapixel with 10x Optical Zoom and the lens can be rotated in any direction with self portrait also possible.
The advantage is the lens movement while zooming is internal and there is no external protrusion, this should save it from any damages. The cables, battery and the memory card are all same as earlier Nikkon camera so no need of fresh investment on that front. The quality of pictures are also quite nice. This has additional feature called VR, to nullify any effect of vibrations from hand and would always come in handy.
The disadvantage is the viewing an object for clicking is always through the LCD display so if the display goes for a toss then one would be shooting pictures at arbit. The battery section is slightly inside from the cover that one needs delicate hands for palcing the battery, though this is not much of a concern.
Check out the photos below. The first two were clicked at Spencer Plaze, Chennai and the enxt two were clicked on the way from Chennai to Bangalore.

(This was clicked through the rear view mirror of my car!!)

From now on am back in action.

Life is tough – 33

Known guy (G1) approaches one (X1) for help in getting an idea for development of product. X1 also helps G1 with all details and also gives detailed information. G1 does not respond, after X1 contacts him after a gap of two months, X1 gets a response “am working on similar idea, by company non-disclosure agreement I cant tell anything”.
Is this called courtesy. What is the guarentee that G1 might not be using X1′s idea? This is the main reason why entreprenuership is not a success story in India. Such incidents creates fear into guys.

Past 1 year has seen lot of things happening in Chennai, India. Probably what was never brought out has come out in the open in this past 1 year. Forget politics and cinema and other stuff.
What am talking about is professionals and entreprenuers coming together under one roof. Each one adding their few bits in the organising. The level of audience for some of the meets were seen never before in India for a meet of the kind. Yes, all were related to IT industry but still its a very good begining. For those who thought that IT is not for Chennai but only Bangalore they just need to look at the events. The way it was conducted and the participation. Am not talking any different the events were:
BarCamp, BlogCamp, proto.in.

But frankly speaking what I believe is lacking is the marketing of these events. Yes, the attendance is huge and there are people across places who know about it. Who are these people, bloggers. What about people who dont blog arnt they missing out on such actions. There should be enough writing’s in the media which gets the attention of public with regular pumping of whats happening. I definitely feel there should be some improvement done in this regard.

Proto.in – Create, Collaborate, Contribute was a conference of this kind was held for the first time in India. This happened over the weekend in IIT, Chennai. This was a conference where entreprenuers get to showcase their product to potential Venture Capitalist and also to professionals who could join them in further realisation of the product.
This was held on similar lines to the one being held annually in USA.
There were about 30 companies who presented and quite a number of known guys and it was nice to meet up with them after a long time.
The products presented some of them looked very simple and made many of sigh that we could have also thought of the same. Some of the ideas I listened to were
1. Helpdesk from Tenmiles
2. TracBac
3. SMS interface for ERP applications by ValueFirst (hope the name of company is correct)
4. Interface for CRM
5. Taazza by Arjun & Arun Ram brothers
6. Unleash networks

Tid-Bits:
(Since my camera doesnt work am lifting photos from here)
1. Jump start Jam Ramanujam painted in white at the center

(Jam is the guy in blue shirt with white stripes)

2. Arvind (4) U 24/7 knows how to allocate time and does not believe in (mobile) number game. He has listened to the song “Ek Lo Ek Muft” from movie Guru lot number of times and misunderstood the same.
3. Refer to the photo above the guy in the middle Sagaro whose blog gets listed for any arbit search of whatever your intentions & priorities are is into Short Film making. (Don’t go by the colour of his shirt or the search terms).
4. So much of fun we had at Cafe Coffee Day inside IIT campus that lady who took our orders ran away immediately. Nope no eve-teasing probably the noise we created was unbearable.
5. The probability of your order being not available in the Cafe Coffee Day is always 1 (One).

Yojimbo is a movie by Akira Kurosawa as always in black & white because of the time in which this movie was shot. When watching the movie I was amazed that this was story which was made as ‘A fistful of Dollars‘ starring Clint Eastwood. Frame by frame Clint Eastwood movie was a remake of Yojimbo with Western touch to it. Instead of a samurai it is replaced by cowboys, thats it.
The gang war in the town, the officer, samurai who comes to town as an wanderer, the wife who is taken over by one of the gang lords, coffin maker, bartender… Its all the same.

Both the movies were great in the way it was directed and not leaving even one single gap. Never for a moment in either of the movies do you feel bored, even though the english version was copied from this.
The background score and the locations are really great.

Last week I had been to Pegasus Institute for Team building training from my office. Yes, this is the same place where the Indian Cricket Team also went for. The implementation of the training is always left to the individuals and team.
Well, this institute is different from other similar kind of training for the simple reason that this is run by ex-armymen (comprises of army, airforce & navy). They have varied training programmes and for different duration depending on the requirements.
This institute is located about 70kms North of Bangalore in a small village by name Doddaballapur and reaching there itself is an exercise by itself. There is a big lake nearby and good space for trekking up the rocks and lot of other activities can be done here.

I personally liked this training because there were quite a few physical activities involved rather than keeping one fixed to chairs in a small room. Each training has got its own methodologies, but team cannot be built by sitting in a room and there should be space for everyone’s involvement which cant happen within four walls is my understanding.

But what makes me wonder is there are so many other professions where guys dont get to attend such kind of trainings but there is a strong bond among them and everyone knows his/her role to be performed. But why is it that with advent of IT & ITES such kind of soft skills training programs are required. And in the name of training these people also make huge money.

Some of the photos clicked enroute to the place and at the place.
