Wondering what am writing about or rather me & vegetarian. Nothing much, I was in this restaurant Olives restaurant in Days Inn Deccan Odyssey in Chennai. This serves only vegetarian food and dont worry it really tastes good. Rs.230/- for a dinner buffet is real good price for the food served.
There were quite a lot number of starters and decent number of desserts stuffed with ice-creams, jhangri, rasagulla, payasam. The one thing which striked me was there were more than two cauliflower startes. But am not complaining since the quality and taste was there.
They also serve hot butter naans, dosa’s.
About the service I should say anything, it was really good. These guys were there everytime we wanted something and very courteous.
If you are driving dont worry they have valet parking also.

If you are in chennai and happen to be a vegetarian head straight here. This place is located where Ajantha hotel was located before.

Mahabalipuram again

Last time when I was in Chennai I went to Mahabalipuram this time again I went on Christmas day with my parents. The drive as always along the East Coast Road (ECR) is awesome. There was good traffic but no jams. This time again I didnt take my camera along as its still under service. Hopefully next time around I would take the camera along.
This time unlike last time when we stayed only near the water, saw the caves, sea shore temple and of course had a dip in the water also.
The Pallavas who built the temples in the place have a very different architecture compared to Cholas (Tanjore) and Pandyas (Madurai). The caves are not finished and history says that the people fled when they were attacked. But this place still attracts quite a large number of tourists.
The major being the sea shore temple which with no light inside makes it difficult to make out which deity is inside leaving to imaginations and theories of others. The entry fee is Rs.10/- for Indians an Rs.250/- for foriegners.

The place though needs lot of improvement. There are not many proper hotels to have food. Roadside shops are fine when we go in a group of guys but not when with family.
The bus stand well this is one spot which is the reason for major traffic jams at all times of the day.
Hopefully things would improve.

Superstition & avoiding it

Recently after reading a news item in paper I had a real good laugh. There is political party in TamilNadu which installed Periyar statue bang opposite temple in Srirangam, Trichy.
These guys aim to remove superstition among minds of people. Can this really be achieved in a country where we hang lemon or photo to be safe on our vehicles. We burn a doll stuffed with hay before construction of house for driving away all demons. Everytime before we start on a journey we go to temple and break coconut and show camphor to god. When we buy new vehicle we take it to temple and crush lemon kept under each wheel of the vehicle. We want to sleep only in the direction of east-west for better sleep. There are lots more of similar stuff followed by we Indians. Its not only we Indians even people all over the World have their own belief.

If these are really planning to remove all such, do they actually follow it in their home? Politics is such a nasty thing that politicians preach to all & sundry standing in a dias. When it comes to there own home none of what they speak is followed. If they cant convince their own families to follow their ideologies then why go around fooling the public. Well, the public is really a fool otherwise why would they waste their time in listening to such crap they might do something useful, aint it.

How many attempts, the payment goes through without any problem but finally there is no ticket for printing. Check the below image.

I sent a mail to IRCTC guys without any response!!

Well if you are in Bangalore and walking in Koramangala on 4th Block or 4th B Block one must be looking not only forward but also backwards & sidewards. Why?? Well, the answer is very simple, car owners park their cars on the pavement in front of their house since there is no space inside to park. Not only that, on the main roads due to lack of space and lot of traffic, two wheelers or rather bikers take their vehicles on to the pavements and honk as if pavement is main road!!
These guys force the pedestrians to the road for walking thereby putting us in danger of getting hit. There is absolute lack of discipline and only thing all drivers do is complain about traffic problems while they also contribute to the problem.

How many times to write about these problems faced but there seems to be no light at the end of tunnel.

Well Done Indian Team

Wow, what a difference Ganguly and Laxman have made to the Indian side. From worse losers, a complete turnaround with half centuries by Ganguly in first innings & Laxman in the second, India has won its first ever test match in South Africa against South Africa.
Sreesanth made things possible after his is maiden 5-wicket haul in the South Africa’s first innings.
The presence of Ganguly has given the Indian team much needed aggression. We could see Laxman flying around to take catches, so did Sehwag, Zaheer effecting run out. VRV Singh moving wide across and belting all bowlers.

Congrats to the Indian Team.

The best moment of this test match, check out this video in youtube.

Where do you want to drive??

Today morning I saw an accident in Whitefield, Bangalore. Well the accident was really bad involving two Tata Sumo’s. From KTPO in Whitefield, vehicles which want to touch the main road for reaching GE office or to go to Radha Hometel need to come up take a left turn and drive few meters and then take a U-Turn. But drivers are generally lazy and take a right turn and drive on the wrong side of the road.
Well this driving caused one such accident today morning. Both the sumo’s front was damaged badly.
What could have been prevented by just a common sense. This is not the only place where the problem is. The same problem exists even near Satellite Goods Terminal in Whitefield where its worse cause they are trucks.
Whatever you say or do these driver’s persist to drive on the wrong side of the road to save fuel and also distance and time. But what is the result.

Can something be done for this?
